Ocmulgee Heritage Trail

This is a photo of our study site off Google earth, we were at the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail in Macon, Georgia. I have added a transect line of where our class did our study in the river, in which you can see the elevation of the land and river.

Ocmulgee Heritage Trail - This link here will give you a little background about the trail itself, although the actual Ocmulgee Heritage Trail website is down right now, there is a link in this website which will take you there at a further date when the website is up and running. For now this link will give you a very brief background of the Trail.

The Importance of Community Parks - not only do Community parks bring the actually population of the community together, they give a safe place to families and young ones to walk without having to worry about being harassed. Community parks seem to be a blocker to homeless and dangerous people who may be in a community, this is because the community parks are looked after by the police, and there are always people there so it is hard to do illegal activities without being caught. A safe place to bring a family with a wonderful view, it just does not get any better than that. Community parks should be incorporated into any great community.

Mystery of the Megaflood

MYSTERY OF THE MEGAFLOOD
In lab we had to chance to watch a short movie about the mega flood in which occurred millions of years back, and was rejected by most scientist. This flood was which was made up of millions of gallons swept water over many present day locations such as Montana, Oregon, and Idaho. The flood was caused by a large ancient ice dam which eventually melted, the dam was located in Montana in a valley. The Mega Flood all in all formed the area in which we call the channeled scablands today.
